School Age Summer Program Lead Teacher

Hours: Full Time

Position Summary:

We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and reliable School Age Summer Program Teacher to lead engaging, age-appropriate activities for children ages 5-10 in our summer enrichment program. The ideal candidate will have experience working with school-age children and a passion for creating a safe, supportive, and fun learning environment. Familiarity with STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) concepts and activities is a strong plus, as our program includes hands-on learning experiences in these areas.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement a variety of educational and recreational activities, including STEM-based projects, aligned with children’s developmental levels.
  • Supervise children at all times to ensure their health, safety, and well-being.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and staff.
  • Manage behavior using positive guidance and developmentally appropriate practices.
  • Set up, clean, and maintain activity areas and materials daily.
  • Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and follow all program policies and procedures.
  • Go on field trips and support outdoor activities.
  • Complete any required documentation (attendance, incident reports, etc.).

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate’s degree or higher in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (or currently pursuing a degree in one of these areas).
  • Experience: Prior experience working with school-age children in an educational or recreational setting preferred.
  • STEM Knowledge: Familiarity with age-appropriate STEM activities and a willingness to lead hands-on projects and learning experiences.
  • Certifications: CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • High energy, creativity, and a love for working with kids!
